LOS SANTOS -- A long-simmering labor dispute involving city sanitation workers has taken a visible turn, and residents across Los Santos are now feeling the impact.
After weeks of protesting low wages, poor working conditions, and a lack of respect, garbage collectors have begun refusing to collect individual trash cans and loose garbage bags. Moving forward, crews will only service dumpsters, forcing residents and businesses to rethink how they dispose of their waste.
Union sources describe the move as a strategic escalation, one intended to increase pressure on city leadership without fully halting sanitation services. While trash is still being collected in limited capacity, the change has already altered daily routines for thousands of residents.
City officials have not yet issued a public response, though sources tell Los Santos News that internal discussions may already be underway behind closed doors.
Residents in neighborhoods without easy access to dumpsters are reporting overflowing trash, unpleasant conditions, and rising public health concerns, particularly if the dispute continues without resolution.
Until further notice, residents are advised to use designated dumpsters only as negotiations remain uncertain.
