Following the earlier threat, Los Santos News received a mysterious phone call from an unlisted number. The caller, voice distorted, instructed the newsroom to retrieve a package from a discreet location. Coordinates were later sent, accompanied by a photo of a recycling bin.
The drop location was deep in one of the city’s wealthiest neighborhoods. A veteran LSN reporter went undercover, dressed inconspicuously, and made the retrieval in the dead of night—fearful of being mistaken for a trespasser and even more unnerved by the sense of being followed.
The package, soaked in blood from the severed finger inside and buried in the recycling bin, contained a disturbing letter. The note read:
"We took Sgt. Collins this time. Kept eight fingers on him, call it a mercy. The ink on his forehead? That’s permanent. Like the mistake your boys keep making. We told you once. You didn’t listen."
Sources believe the delivery and abduction were carried out by members of the LCN—allegedly. LSN is at least somewhat thankful that this gruesome delivery wasn't left on the receptionist's desk like it was last time a finger was left.

Not only did they invite us to visit their charming establishment — affectionately called their "cubby" — but they even took the time to recommend a delightful spot in the hills where we could find the freshest bacon. Yes, you read that right. Nothing brings people together quite like good company and good food.
And, of course, I must extend my personal gratitude to LCN for the opportunity to address their entire crew. After my, shall we say, less-than-warm reception when they first approached me, it was only right that I acknowledge my behavior. I’m so thankful for their graciousness in accepting my apology and their commitment to moving forward in the spirit of friendship. Truly, a humbling experience.
The way LCN has shown their commitment to building relationships is a shining example of how neighbors should support one another. They reminded us that despite the busy hustle of city life, it’s essential to take time for meaningful connections. I followed them to what I can only describe as their hideout, watching from across the street. My hands shook as I tried calling the police. No answer. I sent texts, hoping someone would respond. Nothing. Maybe they were too busy rushing to a house robbery with no one even there. Meanwhile, the entire LSN team was under threat. I stood frozen, knowing every second that passed could make things worse.
But I couldn’t wait. The only thing I could think was that my team needed me. So I did the only thing that came to mind: I walked in. I acted like I knew them, like I belonged. My knees were trembling, my voice cracking, but I didn’t let it show. I couldn’t falter. Not then.
I talked. And I talked. Every word I threw out bought a second for my team. I didn’t stop. I said anything and everything to keep the situation under control. And it worked… for a moment. My team was let go. But in doing so, I had talked myself into something far worse. I was now in the backseat of a car, headed who knows where, with a convoy of vehicles trailing behind.
LSN has a solid tracking system, and I knew my team was on the way. But that didn’t ease the dread. My only thought was to stall for as long as I could. I kept running my mouth. I won’t lie — I was losing it. I've had more guns pointed at me than I care to count, and I’ve even been cut by serial killers in my pursuit of the truth. But this was different. The stakes weren’t just my life; it was the freedom of the press itself.
Eventually, I was released. They even offered me a ride back, like it had all been some twisted business negotiation. But make no mistake — the threats to LSN were very real.
So how do we move forward? Do we stop reporting on violence in the city? Should we turn our focus to the latest fruit stand operation and pretend the world outside is perfectly fine? Maybe there’s a middle ground, but one thing is certain: the news will not stop. The stories will be told. The truth will be heard.
The laws protect us. The people protect us. But we cannot do it alone.
